Tell Bill Halter to Run for Senate
From MoveOn.org:
Right now, we've got a great opportunity to replace one of the conservative Democrats in Congress who blocked so much progress this year—and send a message to all the others.
Senator Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas is up for reelection and the state's progressive lieutenant governor, Bill Halter, is deciding whether to challenge her in the Democratic primary.
When it comes to Democrats, Lincoln is the worst of the worst. She promised to filibuster health care reform if it contained a public option, is cosponsoring a bill to roll back the Clean Air Act, and sided with big banks to kill the president's mortgage relief plan.
But Bill Halter needs to see that he'd have overwhelming support from grassroots progressives across the country in order to challenge Lincoln and overcome her millions in campaign contributions from corporate interests. Can you sign our petition urging him to get in the race?
A compiled petition with your individual comment will be presented to Bill Halter.

Sen. Dodd, Tell Wall Street You Have Another Dance Partner
From Public Citizen:
Recently, a financial industry lobbyist said because Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-Conn.) is retiring, he is now free to “dance with the special interests that brought him to the dance in the first place. Us, his loyal donors in the banking community."
In fact, Dodd is now free to do the right thing and hold the banksters accountable. Because he’s not running for re-election, he's no longer beholden to big banks for campaign contributions.
It's not too late for Sen. Dodd to make protecting Main Street -- not dancing with Wall Street -- his legacy.
